I was getting ready to pack my bags for a weekend in Austin and saw on my weather app “partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid 70s”. Perfect. Suitcase and camera bag in tow, I hopped in my Jetta and headed off to Austin for a weekend of photo shoots and a little visit with our dear friends, The Carruths.
I had only spoken to Kristen on the phone at this point, and from what I could tell across the cell towers she was a delightful girl bubbling with excitement to marry her sweet heart, Justin. It didn’t take long during our phone conversation before I was mouthing to Scott, “We have to get this wedding!” Photographing weddings is such a joy, and all the more so when you have a wonderful bride and groom to share the day with.
But, I’m getting ahead of myself – it’s not wedding time… yet! I had the pleasure of meeting Kristen and Justin for the first time to take these photos in celebration of a very special and important step in becoming partners for life – engagement!! Justin’s facial expressions and witty personality had Kristen laughing through the whole session, which made for a fun and relaxed shoot. When I posed them sitting criss-cross on the floor facing each other, Justin and Kristen started a game of hand-jives! I’m telling you, these two are precious and love to goof around! We had a blast.
Kristen and Justin, soak up this summer of love and embrace being engaged! Your wedding will be here before we know it!!
