Houston Texas Wedding Photographer
It was in a dimly lit room, friends and family seated at long tables adorned tastefully with pops of Mexico-inspired color, over a rehearsal dinner of fajitas and all the guac and chips one could hope for that Jeremy’s best man stood up to give his toast to the groom. He teased that every man looked forward to being Jeremy’s roommate because it meant that said roommate would meet his significant other within the year – but not Jeremy. Roommates came and went, meeting their future spouses, moving out, and Jeremy would be “always a groomsmen, never a groom”.
Until he wasn’t. Until he met Lauren.
Lauren is compassionate, tender, kind, and loyal. The type of friend that brings a cake to your house when it was you that invited her over. The kind of woman that desires everyone else to be taken care of first. She is quiet in that endearing, sweet way that makes you want to get to know her because when you see her warmth simply radiates.
Jeremy is fun and loud just as much as he is cheerful and steadfast. He is the life of the party with a laugh that can fill up a room, but he is also the one making sure that his friends feel at home.
Needless to say, I have little doubt in my mind that this marriage was built to last. She is the warmth to Jeremy’s cheer, he is the steadfast to Lauren’s loyalty.
Lauren’s beautiful gown was purchased at a local bridal boutique, Marry Go Round. The ivory color complimented the deep wine hues in the flowers and bridesmaids’ dresses beautifully.
Lauren prepared for her wedding at The Magnolia Hotel in downtown Houston, just across the street from their wedding venue, Christ Church Cathedral.
I love the unique design of Lauren’s engagement ring! Swoon…
The bridesmaids wore lovely burgundy lace dresses with nude shoes and a statement necklace.
Lauren gifted her bridesmaids with adorable matching plaid shirts and monogrammed mugs to use during their hours of preparation, which made for some fantastic slumber-party-esque photos!
Who doesn’t love a flower girl wearing a flower crown…?!
Lauren’s mother, a twinkle in her eye with every beaming smile!
Lauren’s grandmother was an absolute delight. Those kind eyes just melt your heart.
Meanwhile, the guys got ready at the church!
Preparation over, the girls walked briskly from The Magnolia Hotel (complete with clear umbrella – yes!) to the church for the First Look with Jeremy and Lauren!
It was ALL smiles from there. Golly, I love First Look pictures!!
The Wedding Party joined in for the fun a few moments later.
Lauren and her Matron of Honor put the bouquets together themselves, made from carefully selected silk flowers. Stunning!
Back in the rain for a few more photos with that adorable umbrella!
There’s that laugh I was telling you about!
Christ Church Cathedral has been in downtown Houston for decades, and the structure, both inside and outside, is so carefully adorned with the most intricate details.
Rallying before the ceremony!
Checkin’ out that RING!
Three Brothers Bakery made the cake, while the desserts were a collaboration of efforts from several of Lauren and Jeremy’s friends and family.
The paper flowers were hand made by Lauren’s mother, over 1,500 total!! A labor of love.
A good time was had by all, and we were honored to be a part. Jeremy and Lauren, we wish you all that marriage has to offer in happiness and love, with plenty of cherished memories along the way!
Paper and silk,
HK

It was such a delight to be a part of your wedding! I know you will have many wonderful years together since you said the ‘right’ vows (the same ones as Brad and I) ! LOL. We had so much fun and your friendship is such a blessing! Thanks for all the positive influence you have had on our family.
I was really impressed Lauren that your mom remembered me by name! Your parents did a fantastic job of raising both of you!
Love,
Candy and Brad
