Once upon a time, in a bustling downtown not so far away,
a Disney theme wedding (Beauty and the Beast to be exact!) was well under way.
Family members and friends arranged books and candelabras,
placed arrangements of red roses, and tweaked vignettes of old clocks and tea cups.
Flower girls fastened their golden dresses,
and bridesmaids assisted the bride.
Cuff links were clasped,
bow ties were straightened.
And in these hurried hours before the ceremony, tucked in a quiet corner Bride’s Suite, her mother on one side and sister on the other, stood a most calm bride with the softest gaze. Her shoulders were lax, her breaths long and deep.
Because after eight years together, things were ever just the same. Ever a surprise. Ever as before. Ever just as sure.
The Rice provided an impressive, urban backdrop for bridesmaids and groomsmen photos.
During the ceremony, a Texas thunderstorm rolled in making the Beauty and the Beast theme really come alive!
We had to stay indoors for post ceremony photos, but the lobby area at The Rice provided all the whimsy needed!
The Crystal Ballroom was elaborately transformed into a sparkling, elegant space for the evening’s party.
Complete with towering candelabras…
An ice sculpture depicting the encased rose from the Disney feature film!!!
And a Beauty and the Beast cake topper. Perfection.
Will and Jenna snuck outside after the storm to take in the sunset reflecting off of the glass windows of downtown Houston.
While the little ones danced in the last falling raindrops.
Will and Jenna, I pray for a lifetime of sureness despite surprises. That you will find that you can change, accept when you are wrong. And that certain as the sun rising in the east your faith will be your foundation.
Beauty and the Beast,
HK

Ru and I were so delighted to attend this love celebration. God has provided his “favor” on this lovely couple. May God’s grace and favor continue in the years to come.
