It was a perfect spring day in our city for Leslie and Billy’s garden wedding. The threat of rain subsided on Friday (whew!) and we were graced with full sun and blue skies all day the Saturday of their wedding! The azaleas were in FULL bloom around the city, and they were not shy at the River Oaks Garden Club, spreading their blooms wide and lovely in the gardens on the quaint premises.
Leslie and her bridal party were playing late 90s/early 2000s jams as they prepped – we are talkin’ ALL the good stuff – N’Sync, Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys… these were my jams, ya’ll! I caught the bridesmaids practicing their flash mob dance to one of these beats in the back room, preparing to surprise Leslie at the reception during the garter toss (it was perfection, by the way)!
The ceremony was held at the beautiful St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, just down the street from River Oaks Garden Club. Leslie’s extra long cathedral veil reminded me of “Maria” from the Sound of Music as she glided down the aisle to meet her groom, Captain Von Trapp! It was so delicate, and perfect for the setting.
Kayleigh from Embellished Events made sure that every detail of the garden reception was perfect. From the peachy pink and ivory flowers to the tea light candles, the decor perfectly complimented the garden’s blossoms and creeping ivy.
We had a blast celebrating with you, Leslie and Billy!! May you have the happiest ever after!
Azaleas and ivy,
