The Freckled Key Photography is a wedding and lifestyle photographer based in Houston, TX.
It was a bright, sunny morning the day of Meg and Cody’s hill country wedding, a welcomed change from the stormy and flooded week in Houston just days before. Scott and I were sipping our coffee by the pool at Cypress Falls Event Center, starting an otherwise eventful day at a steady pace. In the distance we saw the soon-to-be-wedded couple park their car on the hill and make their way down to the pool, shades and smiles on and beaming brighter than the sky!
Surrounding us at every turn were all the signs of a hill country scene: towering and leggy oak trees, peeling cedar stumps, trickling fresh water streams, and beaming limestone. Being from central Texas, this felt like home.
With a small, intimate gathering of Meg and Cody’s closest friends and family around tables of good food and a dozen pies, this wedding, too, felt like home. And after hearing several toasts given by their parents, siblings, and closest friends, it seems as though Meg and Cody are quite accustomed to making everyone feel like family.
Meg and Cody opted to do a First Look prior to the ceremony, and the live oaks next to Cypress Creek provided the perfect setting for this cherished moment.
A gorgeous ceremony under the oak trees with scattered light streaming through the branches made for a soft and romantic exchange of vows.
A little post-ceremony wading!
… and skipping rocks across the creek.
Guests enjoyed cocktails and a few rounds of corn hole while waiting for the couple’s entrance!
Catering and pies were provided by Root Cellar Bakery in San Marcos, TX.
Cody’s dad’s smile had me grinning all night!!
The DJ for the evening, Matthew Schuster of M. Schuster Music, kept the party going all night!
Meg and Cody, you threw one stellar party! Thank you for letting us join your family and friends in celebrating the treasure that is YOU!
L.O.V.E. and oaks,
