It was a chilly Houston morning. And for Houston, “chilly” is anything below 70 degrees so I over-ambitiously decided that I needed to wear 4 layers of tops to keep myself warm forgetting that I often sweat profusely during photo shoots (I blame the squatting and contorting my arms and torso to ensure that I get the right shot for that – maybe a little bit of nerves and excitement mixed in, too) – it’s embarrassing. As I was clicking around the Miller Outdoor Theater finding good locations for the photo shoot, I was already regretting the decision to wear two coats. Yes, two. I’m a Texas girl, and I don’t like to be cold, okay? π
I popped out of the Miller Outdoor Theater to find Stacy and Derek bundled up on the sidewalk looking around to find the girl with the camera π Immediately they struck me as warm (both literally and personality-wise), sweet, and charming, each wearing a gentle smile on their faces as I approached them and made my introduction π I knew this was going to be a pleasant session.
Stacy looked stunning in her red sweater! I think I’m going to recommend more momma’s to wear red for maternity shoots because the color popped beautifully against the browns and grays of the cool, fall morning. I was just swooning! And that tender gaze to top it off – yes. Perfect π Stacy, you owned this shoot!
Derek could not have been more amazing, too. Such a positive and encouraging person! He carefully helped his lovely wife up when I had her doing gymnasticsΒ going from sit to stand throughout the shoot, and talked so excitedly about his daughter-to-be. Makes me excited to see how Scott will be when our turn finally comes to start a family π
Stacy and Derek, thank you for a lovely morning. You two are truly so kind and wonderful! It was my pleasure to photograph the two of you, and I look forward to meeting your little one in January! Until then, I will be praying for a safe delivery and a healthy baby and momma when she arrives π
Falling leaves and foot bridges,
HK
