I could spend pages talking about how much I am completely obsessed with adore these two, but I will spare you and try to squeeze it into a few sentences. Eric was one of the first people Scott and I met when we moved to Houston 4 years ago. He welcomed us into his home within our first week of moving here and quickly became one of our closest friends. He has seen Scott and I through thick and thin and everywhere in between in our married life and loved us through it all. He is wise, gentle, eager to listen and slow to speak, with the kindest smile.
Emily stepped into my life within the first year of us living in Houston, but became a very special friend to me at a time when I was vulnerable. I was halfway through grad school, helping my husband lead a small group at our church, and had just lost two dear friends, one to cancer and one had moved out of the state. Emily swooped in and has since become a very cherished friend. She is sprightly, confident, creative, so loving, and has a twinkle in her eye that is impossible to miss.
Eric and Emily, I’m sure I will have so much more to say at your wedding. But, in the meantime, soak up this time of engagement. Fall more deeply in love and in appreciation of what each of you has to offer in your beautiful and unique relationship. I love you both to pieces.
