Susie approached me about doing a newborn session when their youngest, Lola, was born just before Sam graduated with his Masters of Architecture from Rice University. \u00a0We opted to wait a few months after Lola was born to do the shoot to get past the craziness of having a new baby with graduating.<\/p>\n

\"2014-04-04_040\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I was\u00a0thrilled<\/i>\u00a0when they agreed to start the photo shoot in their humble, yet perfectly styled apartment.\u00a0Susie\u2019s eye for design and Sam\u2019s knack for aesthetic worked well to create a charming, yet mature little girls\u2019 room where we spent the first hour of the shoot, playing\u00a0Guess Who<\/i>\u00a0on Lucy\u2019s bed, \u00a0exchanging cards during a game of\u00a0Old Maid<\/i>\u00a0on the girls\u2019 grey and white chevron rug,\u00a0and sketching figures on tracing paper on Lucy\u2019s red drawing table.<\/p>\n

Lola fit right in the mix, cuddled on Susie and Sam\u2019s laps as Lucy lit up the room with her bright personality.<\/p>\n

\"2014-04-04_042\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_043\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_044\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_045\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_046\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_047\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_048\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_049\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_050\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_051\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_052\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_053\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_054\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_055\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_056\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_057\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_058\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_059\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_060\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_061\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_062\"<\/a> \"2014-04-04_063\"<\/a><\/p>\n

As Sam had just graduated from Rice University, we finished off the shoot in the courtyard at Rice University\u2019s campus, complete with snuggle time on Lucy and Lola\u2019s great-grandmother\u2019s quilt.<\/p>\n

I asked Lucy what her favorite thing about being a big sister was to which she replied, with the biggest, toothy grin, \u201cI just love to HOLD HER\u2026.!\u201d<\/p>\n
